What Causes Pain And Burning During Urination?

default
Posted on Sat, 20 Sep 2014
Question: I have pain and burning when urinating and soreness after I had intercourse three nights ago.
I took a look and it looks like I have friction marks on the intrance to an just inside of my vagina...
We did use lubricant it was his and hers how ever he also used a (latex ring) for added pleasure
But I think it may have what looks like burns ...kinda like very small rug burns. I don't know what to do I've put vasoline, but it doesn't seem to work for long and now it hurts when I walk! What should I do?

Brief Answer:
Need to see a doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I should rightfully start by saying that if you have a bruise around or on your genitalia, you are vulnerable to infections. The burning sensation and frequent urination indicates the presence of an infection, which warrants a visit to the doctors immediately.

For this reason I would recommend a visit to a complete examination and a course of prophylactic antibiotic if required. I see that you are already on bacitracin and hope that this was prescribed by your doctor.

Next coming to the lubrication issue; there are many medically approved lubricants in the market that should make sexual intercourse safe and much more comfortable (eg. K Y Jelly).

Taking your age into consideration, a low hormone level could easily be the cause for poor lubrication. This can be addressed with the help of hormonal supplements.

As of now, keep your privates clean and dry and apply the prophylactic antibiotics to help promote quick recovery and avoid friction.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.

Best wishes.
