What Causes Open Sores Around The Anus?
Question: What causes open sores around the anus on a toddler (4y.o.). She with holds bowl movements and urine because it hurts too much. Been going on for a long time. Pedi said "rash caused from holding". Must be another explanation. 3 yrs now

You say she holds her stools and urine and this history is fitting into habitual constipation and voiding dysfunction respectively. But none of these diagnoses should produce open sores around the anus.
I suggest you answer the following questions, so that I can give a sound professional opinion -
1. What is her current weight and height and her exact date of birth? I need to asses her growth centiles.
2. Does she have recurrent diarrhoea or pain abdomen or skin rashes other than around the anus?
3. Are you using any steroid medications for her constant colds and runny nose?
4. How many days once she passes her stools and are they blood stained while coming out?
5. When urinating sensation comes - does she run to washroom and voids immediately?
6. Did she undergo anytime an ultrasound abdomen for constipation or voiding dysfunction?
7. It would be very helpful for me if you can send me a photograph of the affected area, If you don't mind.
