Question: The top knuckle of the middle finger of my left hand went totally numb. Rubbing and moving it did not bring it back. 2 hours later, it has most of the feeling back. However, now the ring finger (top section) is starting to go numb.

nerve can be compressed around elbow or in cervical spine.
you will need clinical examination and further investigation like MRI and EMG NCV study.
