Brief Answer:
if this is your first time, no worries

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

I understand how disturbing this could be especially if you are experiencing this for the first time. However, it might be interesting to know if you have had this before, if you have ever experienced numbers as such in another area of the body or not. Did it start immediately after you started the z pack? Have you experienced any other abnormal or unusual feeling after starting the z pack?

Z pack is an antibiotic that could produce some neurological symptoms as such in some people. These however rarely go on for more than 48 hours when the medication is stopped. In case symptoms are so serious you experience new symptoms, you might have to discontinue treatment with the consent of your doctor.

The numbness might as well not be related to the drug. Confection with viruses can affect specific nerves that transmit sensory information from the upper lip to the brain. This can lead to short lived numbness.

I suggest you just be patient in case symptoms do not add or aggravate. You should be OK normally within 48 to 72 hours at worst . If this this persists or aggravate, you will have to see primary care physician for a proper clinical review. If not, I think you need bother for now.

Kind regards and I wish you the best of health.
