Brief Answer:
I think it is due to nerve compression

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think there can be two reasons of this numbness.
1. Meralgia parasthetica- it is a condition in which there is compression of nerve at waist and it causes numbness in outer part of the thigh same like you have mentioned. It is caused by tight clothings , belt, more common in Diabetes.
2. Other cause is Diabetic neuropathy.
I would suggest you to show to a orthopaedic doctor and he will examine you. After that if he thinks that it is meralgia Parasthetica, treatment can be started.
I give following treatment to my patients with similar coplains.
1. Tablet Methylcobal and Pregabalin
2. Steroid injection at nerve where it is compressed ( usually at groin)
3.Loose garments and good sugar control
I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other question.
Thanks
