Hello Dr,

Thanks for your reply.

I am having most of the mentioned symptoms for quite some time and had consulted couple of doctors for sure and had conducted quite a few tests as well (in Oct and Dec).
Haemogram and thyroid tests were ok. PP sugar and Cholestrols were borderline less/more and LFT indicated billirubin/albumin levels slightly high. However, doctors mentioned thse were not to worry, and mainly prescribed treatment for vitamins, mainly B12 and D3 too. I had taken 3-3 injections as well but there was no improvement and meanwhile met one of my relative doctor (by chance when someone else was hospitalised) and currently taking ayurvedic medicines from him.

I have recently become aware of the term Psychosomatic and I agree that our mind and body are intrinsically inter-connected and hence affect each other.

My questions for are -

1)
when there are clear physical symptoms (body heat, very clear numbness in hands/legs, plams/feet getting hot clearly, every day) can these still be attributed to psychological reasons??

2)
Request to pleasee relook at the symptoms I mentioned in original question.
Can these all be caused by marginal vitamin deficiency ?? mainly B12

3)
how important is to take (if prescribed) vitamin injections exactly as prescribed? I mean, both on (i) completing full course and (ii) completing in timeframe?
I had been told something like alternate days, which I found too much.
Do we need to boost the vitamin levels that much?
If I have disliking for injection, no other way for this?

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
These are psychosomatic manifestations.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being in follow-up.

I have gone through your detailed medical history again. 'Variability', 'Non-specificity' and 'lack of localising value' are the hallmarks in your medical history which almost confirm that it is Psychosomatic in nature.

Psychosomatic means the symptoms which are 'somatic'(means physical symptoms which does exist and are true) but having non-organic origin. Your symptoms are very classical of psychosomatic origin.

Please mention vitamin B12 levels. Vitamin B12 deficiency, even if present in you, does not explain such symptoms. I don't think its supplementation will improve these symptoms. You should however continue supplementation on prescribed regimen to cover the deficiency. In vitamins deficiency, Vitamins act as medicines and every medicine should be strongly adhered to. It must be taken as prescribed.

My treatment plan for you-
1) Mental relaxation exercises/ Yoga/ Pranayama
2) Tab.tryptomer 10 mg once a day at bedtime.
PLEASE TAKE MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE.

Please consider taking a psychiatrist's opinion.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have follow up queries, I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.

Many thanks for your response.

My doctor, I could call him my family Dr now, is an Ayurvedic Dr.
His diagnosis remains same, that of Pitta dosha (imbalance in Pitta) and imbalance of metabolism.
And he even now insists that my symptoms can be treated, although it will take time, with Ayurveda. He insists that "disorders" (that are not necessarily manifested into diseases) treatment are best treated with Ayurveda.

I am not expecting to get opinion on Ayurveda here. I understand that could be out of purview here.

My concern was - more than one doctor (allopathy) had suggested Vitamin B12 (and D3 by one) boosting injections.
As I mentioned, I did take some injections (before meeting my relative, the Ayurveda Dr), but I need to be honest to mention that I could not take full course as suggested (the amount of injections and the timeframe within which I was prescribed).

And hence my doubt was -
how much of the certain amount of injections matter and how much it matters the timeframe in which it must be taken.

Fyi - My B12 vitamin was @208 6 months back. When I had taken few injections, 2 months back it was @1200 (must have been boosted for time being) and 2 weeks back it was @192 and D3 @24.

Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
It absolutely matters a lot to take full prescribed schedule in timeframe.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being in follow-up.

I got your question here. The answer is straightforward:

It absolutely matters a lot to take full prescribed schedule in timeframe. These complete course of injections must be taken in timeframe,in order to achieve the sustained improved levels of vitamin B12.
