What Causes Numbness In Leg From Knee To Ankle?

default
Posted on Mon, 12 May 2014
Question: My left leg, from my knee to my ankle, feels partially numb - like someone stuck a shot of Novocaine in it. It has been this way since Saturday morning. There are no visible signs of agitation. I'm not in pain anywhere. Not short of breath or dizzy. It's just weird. I thought it would be gone by now but it is not. I did spray some weed killer in my yard Thursday afternoon - wearing shorts like a dummy. I thought maybe this might be the problem. Any ideas?

Brief Answer: Numbness can be due to irritant pesticide Detailed Answer: Hello, I have studied your case. Numbness can be due to irritant pesticide which may resolve slowly. If symptoms persist you may need antidote or diluent medication consulting your doctor. Possibility could be lumbar canal stenosis leading to numbness down leg Another possibility of lumbar disc compressing nerve root. Due to compression of this nerve root there can be numbness in leg. I will advise you to do MRI spine For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started. Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help. I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level. Hope this answers your query.
