Brief Answer:
It may be a good idea to start with your current physician..

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

At the outset, I wish to know who is treating your thyroid problem. Is it a physician or endocrinologist.

In my opinion, hand numbness is most likely secondary to pinched nerve. It sometimes occur due to persistent pressure or abnormal posture. It is not a serious concern unless the numbness persists for hours and days. Transient numbness of hand while sleeping isn't abnormal.

Tremors that you experience could be secondary to anxiety or thyroid hormone changes. Though there are other causes, based on the information provided, I would not considered those possibilities as likely. I am happy you decided to see a doctor and get it checked. You should begin by discussing with your current treating doctor. He/she may take up the concern to a neurologist if necessary.

Hope this helped. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards

Thank you Doctor!
Yes! it helps.
4 years back I had consulted a physician who advised me to undergo a thyroid test.
Unfortunately it was positive. From there on whenever possible I get tested and it shows in control as on date. My Doctor is a skin specialist Dr I.S XXXXXXX Appollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills. I have been putting this concern for quiet sometime before him but he isn't suggesting me to visit any other specialist. I am bit worried on surprises. If my issue falls into neurons could you please suggest a neurologist.
That will be of great help.

Thank you in advance

Brief Answer:
You will able to find more specialist at Apollo Hospital.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I wouldn't categorically mention your symptoms are neurological. As discussed earlier, hand numbness is quite common and abnormal if they are transient. It doesn't need further evaluation if it is a short lasting symptoms.

The common causes of trembling are anxiety, thyroid treatment and vitamin deficiency. A physician will be able to determine if those trembles are serious enough to warrant a neurological evaluation. Needless to say, he will first look into the common aspects by screening thyroid treatment, checking your vitamin levels; so as small list of blood tests would be performed.

Since you are already part of a multidisciplinary hospital, it will be a better idea to see a physician (if your dermatologist is not offended). Alternatively any other local physicians nearby can evaluate the trembling and decide if neurologist referral is necessary.

Hope I am clear.
