Question: Last night I had a nose bleed for the first time in my life. I am 64 years old. It didn't last more than a couple of minutes. This morning, I had another nose bleed. It was much more blood and bright red.
I do not take blood pressure medicines nor do I take blood thinners. I only take hormone prescription, .625 mg and many vitamins.

Brief Answer:
Hello. This could be from dry mucus membranes

Detailed Answer:
Hello. For the most part, nosebleeds don't signify any major underlying health problem, and usually it's from the nasal mucosal membranes being dry from low humidity in the air. A thin layer of Vaseline inside the nostrils will help.

That said, if these continue, it could indicate a sinus infection or a low platelet condition, so if you get another bleed you need to have your doctor check this out.
