Posted on Thu, 28 Apr 2016
Question: Hi, I have been having lucid dreams lately which are very frightening. I have been watching a tather gruesome television series before sleeping. But I also have some anxiety and stress issues. I only have been having these dreams since watching the show. What can be the reason and how can I prevent this moving forward? Thank you!

Hello. Thank you for your response I completely agree with discontinuing of watching that show I will create a proper bed routine and start reading before bed so that I can go to sleep peacefully. I will definitely be following up with you to let you know how things have gone. Thank you so much!

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

You describe nightmares after watching a gruesome TV show. Also with diagnoses of anxiety/stress. The answer here is pretty simple -- stop watching this TV show! Practice good sleep hygiene, set up a comfortable and relaxing routine before sleep, and avoid scary TV/movies before bed. Your nightmares will go away quickly, don't worry.
