Brief Answer:
Not an emergency!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these troubling symptoms that you have reported. They do not represent and emergency right now. What I will suggest is that you monitor over the next 3-4days and should there be no improvement(decreased frequency and intensity of the loud noises in the ear), I will recommend that you talk to your doctor about this. Methadone is probably at the origin of this side effect but am confident that your system should soon adjust to this and carry on.

This symptom does not constitute allergy. It is more of a side effect than an allergic. Allergies would rather cause symptoms like rashes, hives, wheals, itches, etc. Though the heart rate has reduced, it is still in the normal range. I will advice you don't get bothered by this right now.

In all, these symptoms are probably related to methadone. They should lessen over the course of the treatment. Should they persist, please talk to your doctor for treatment evaluation and maybe modification. They are not caused by an allergy.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and please do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications should need be.

Are you saying I dont have to stop taking the methadone? That the sounds comes in spasms in my ears could just go away? I thought for sure you would have said its a bad side effect especially with my heart rate lowered so much its like 20 to 30 beats less than normal...that you were going to say stop ....my pain is really really bad and 6 percocets were bad for me meth much better for my severe chronic pain. Thank you so much for your help...I will rate after this question is answered. :0)

Brief Answer:
For now, don't stop!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and hanks for this follow up information.

I guess you are functioning normally and that is what matters most. If this heart drop is causing symptoms of low blood pressure, then I will definitely want to see this medication stopped and treatment re-evaluated right away. However, if you have no symptoms, a heart beat in the vicinity of 61 is still normal though very different from your previous numbers.

I understand methadone is very helpful to you. That's great and am optimistic that the noises in the ear will ease as you carry on with this treatment. Should that fail to happen, as it is the case with a few number of clients, we may have to make the tough choice of whether to carry on with methadone or not.

For now, because you are functioning well and the heart drop has caused no symptoms, continue with your drugs as prescribed. This noises in the ear will lessen as treatment goes on.

I hope this addresses your query fully. I wish you well.
