Question: hi i have been having stomach issues i went to my doctor thinking i had a stomach bug but i have never vomited. my doctor thinks it is gastritis. i have had these symptoms for about 2 week now. chills, fevers, nausea, diarrhea, gas (just started), stomach cramping, bloating, bright red blood in stool for a day, and back pain with the cramping. mostly started after eating.

Brief Answer:
Do a stool exam and stool culture!

Detailed Answer:
HI,

I have reviewed your information and a bit concerned you could be having an infection. With blood in stool, chills and fever, a bacterial infection must be highly suspected. If i were you treating physician, I will ask for a stool routine analysis exam and culture-sensitivity. I am not so convinced myself that gastritis would present with blood in stool.

I hope this helps.
I wish you well and kindly report the results to me once they are out.

Regards

I think the blood is from hemorrhoid though never been diagnosed for it though.

Brief Answer:
How are you feeling today ?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The blood could be from hemorrhoids. I'll suggest that you get examined (either by your Doctor or a Proctologist) to confirm this because it can provide many answers to different worries that we have on our minds at this time relating to the exact cause of your symptoms. Beside, how are you feeling today ?

I hope to hear from you on what next you would be doing.

Regards

Still nauseous and stomach issues. Less gurgling. Gonna try a laxative to clear stomach out and see if that helps. After that I'll try again.

Brief Answer:
I wouldn't recommend that.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

There is no reason to take laxatives as this should resolve spontaneously. if you have already done so, it's okay and do well to keep me posted. time is really all we need and medications least.

Hope to hear back from you
