Question: Every time I eat or even think of eating I get nauseous. Around 4am every morning is when it's at the worst. On top of all of that my nipples are swollen and super tender. I'm thinking I might be pregnant but I haven't even reached my 'missed' period yet. Is it possible to be experiencing symptoms so early and so severely or is something else wrong?
Brief Answer:
Does not sound like anything else.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thank you for your query.
It is less common but possible to have swollen and tender nipples in first month of pregnancy. Tender breasts and nipples — and I'm talking tender — is one of the first signs of pregnancy some women notice after they conceive. As early as a few days after conception, your breasts may feel full, swollen, and painful to the touch — similar to the feeling you may experience before you get your period but probably a little more pronounced.
But nausea and vomiting can definitely be present.
To confirm I will advise you to do a urine pregnancy test IF you miss your periods.
Sometimes these feelings can be a sign of oncoming periods.
It is either your periods coming or you are pregnant. Does not sound like anything else.
Feel free to contact me.
Regards.
