What Causes Muscle Twitches In Body With Shaky Fingers And Headaches With Nausea?

default
Posted on Tue, 11 Feb 2014
Question: hello again. I had one last question. I was on levaquin last week and a few antibiotics.over the course of the last month and a half. the headache ive been complaining about which seems to show uo in the morning ans then the late afternoon disappears while im taking medixation but comes back when thr course of medications are ovee. my head twinges are often above my lect or right temple, above my left ear near my crown, in my.forehead near my eyebrows.and sometimes near the base of my skull but more often in the area aboce my temple more toward mt hairline/top of my head and more often on the left than the right. I did not have this headache one day after levaquin but ut seemed to come back yesterday. I know that my ears are filled with fluid and I ama little congested in my sinuses but this has been an ongoing issue. I am worried this is something serious such as brain tumor due to the pattern of my headache....is.this something to worry about? why would this occur and again im just worried about the pattern since its indicative of that...thamks for your help.

ok...one other thing that is worrying me in terms of als or tumor is that the muscles in my arms especially left sometimes tense up or feel sore when doing things even as simple as typing...they take awhile then to relax. in terms of my headaches, yku dont think its vrain tumor related despite me be ok ng sick and the locations of the headaches? what would cause all this? how long does canac withdrawal last? I was only on it since thanksgiving and am down to .5 mg a dah. some of the bloodwork done on me was tsh. venipuncture. cbc and plt, hbg -hct, comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid profile, t4.

Brief Answer: My reply is below. Detailed Answer: No, I do not think you have ALS or brain tumor. This is because your symptoms are not suggestive of any of them. Xanax withdrawal symptoms could last for a few weeks. Your blood work has been extensive and they are normal, so, that is a very good news. Best wishes, Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)

hello dr. XXXXXXX ...just wanted to let yiu know that im really worried about my left arm...it is again feeling sore and tires especially in the muscles near my elbow and in the top of ny arm...but not really to the touch. when I do things such as type, hold my son, etc or even when it is at rest. this really worries me in terms of als or a brain tumor. it also feels sometines as if my pinky is odd....do you think this is concerning as my left arm usually does this? this is also the hand that is the shakier.of.the two. additionally, I have been sick.twice already this morning but that is probably pregnancy related, my head is not really hurting except.for some occassional twinges I.have in my eyebrow.area, temples but what worries me is the pain I someetimes feel in the top of my crown behind/above my ears...this doesnt seem to be sinus related...what are your feelings on this?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sudhir Kumar (17 minutes later)
Brief Answer: Thank you for getting back. Detailed Answer: Your symptoms are related to mild compression of nerves in the neck region. This can result in pain, tingling and numbness of the arm. Nausea and headache are probably pregnancy related. There is no need to worry about ALS or brain tumor. Best wishes, Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)

I do this every night and my foot has gotten a lot better but it still tingles from time to time. what do you make of the pangs of pain in my crown area of my head? its not much.why does this happen to my arm mostly when doing things with it? sometimes my fingers also have this feeling as well as a couple of fingers on my right hand...just worried because I know brain tumors affect one side sometimes and all of my symptoms are on my left.
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sudhir Kumar (15 minutes later)
Brief Answer: Thank you for getting back. Detailed Answer: The nerves of neck and low back region travel to arms and feet. Therefore, the symptoms can go to arms and legs. There are separate nerves for both sides in arms and legs. Best wishes, Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)

ok....I only get it once in awhile Nd usually along with the head pain. another queztion, im worried because I have fluid behind my ears and sinus infection thay they wont treat because I am pregnant and I read that sinus issues after awhile can cause a brain infection. what can I do to alleviate sinus problems so.this doesnt happen? are you sure achey eyes arent due to my headaches?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sudhir Kumar (5 minutes later)
Brief Answer: My reply is below. Detailed Answer: You have been treated with good antibiotics (levaquin) for sinus infection, so, there is no risk of this infection spreading to the brain. Yes, achy eyes are part of stress, rather than brain-related. Best wishes, Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)

why would I have them upon waking up? also, the one eye experiences sharp little pains. yes, I have been treated with levaquin in the past but I still have fluid, etc behind my ears...the ent thinks I need a ct scan of.my sinuses and says he would.put me on more meds but doesnt want to right now.because of pregnancy. I hope you are right about this.not.being a brain tumor or als because of.ny tingling, twitching, eye pain, headaches that hurt on top of my head in the morning and at night....all.over a month. hi there...I just wanted to let you know I had an eye exam today and my optic nerves are clear and looking good...I guess thats good in terms of a brain tumor. however, im still having a feeling.of soreness/weird sensation on the back of my head...near the edfe of my crown that comes and goes ans in my temple...worried about that. still having the tingly foot and sometimes tingly hand with tense arm. my chiropractor said my left side of my neck muscles are harder/tenser than my right side...could that mean anything in terms of all this?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sudhir Kumar (13 hours later)
Brief Answer: My reply is below. Detailed Answer: It is good to note that your optic nerves are normal and there is no papilledema. This rules out a brain tumor or any other mass lesions in the brain. Cervical and neck muscle spasm can cause pain, tingling, etc. It would get better with physiotherapy and massage. Hi dr XXXXXXX ..thank you so much for all of your help. The only thing that im still concerned about is why my left arm tenses up and minor pain radiates into my ring and pinky fingers....am worried again that this is als or something serious as it happens on a daily basis now and often for no reason. My hand also is a little shaky when I grasp things. Im glad the eye exam came oit so well but that would most likely rule out a brain tumor? Also, my chiropractor said the muscles in the left side of my neck seemed tight as compared to the right side...whats your honest opinion on this? Thanks so much!Hello dr. XXXXXXX I am hoping this question is considered different than the previous ones and I do apologize. Yesterday I had tingling in my right foot which is different and pins and needles in my left knee. I am still having muscle twitches but am worried because aroun 3 o clock last night I had two sharp pains on the right side of my head as I woke up. They were very sharp vut went away quickly. Ive heard pain that wakes you is a warning sign. I have also been nauseaus for most of the night...but that could ve pregnancy. Thanks Edit Delete
