What Causes Moving Pain From Chest To Feet?

default
Posted on Sat, 2 Aug 2014
Question: Hi
I am having kind of moving pain for a couple of minutes in the body from chest till feet. Its like a sharp pain in a particular area which suddenly starts lasts for a couple of minutes and then goes off. Its in legs, lower abdomen, upper abdomen and in chest. For other body parts its on either side of it but for chest it is on left side in majority of the occassions. I dont have any breathing difficulty at that point but I do find it difficult to sit straight at that moment when there is pain in the left chest. I had ECG, stress test and entire body check up in April which doesnt indicate any major anamoly. What are these pains symptoms of. Whom should I consult. earlier the occurence of chest pain was once in a while say a month. But for last one week its almost every second day. Also to mention I am having some stomach & gas related troubles in this period as well.. Pls advise.

Brief Answer:
It looks like a musculoskeletal pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

Having gone through your symptoms, it does not appear to be because of any lung problem. However, I would to ask if you have any symptoms of cough, breathing difficulty, fever, weight loss?

When you had your body check up, I hope a chest x ray was also done and what is the report like? If not pl get a chest x ray done.

To me, it looks like a musculoskeletal pain or a nerve getting irritated. You may consult a orthopaedic surgeon for the same but I would definitely like to know your chest x ray report and if you are having any of the above mentioned symptoms.

You may take a Pan 40 for your gas problem which may help in this pain also.

Hi Doc,

I dont have symptoms of cough, breathing difficulty, fever, weight loss but fatique is there which is there for quite some time.
Chest x ray report attached. As per my reading it indicates normal. That day a couple of hours before x ray I had similar pain in my chest but the frequency of this pain was lower once in a month kind at tht time.

So this is nothing cardiac related right doc.. i should consult a orthopeidec..

Rgds,

Brief Answer:
Yes, consult an orthopedician.

Detailed Answer:
Good to know that you don`t have any of the symptoms mentioned by me and your chest x ray is normal(chest x ray report not found attd).

Your entire body check up has not revealed any heart problem and your symptoms are also not suggestive of that.

Yes, in my opinion you should consult an orthopedician.
