What Causes Mild Irritation And Blood In Urine?
Question: I have just noticed blood in my semen for the first time. Very mild irritation several minutes afterwards. What are the likely causes? What should I do next?
Brief Answer:
Most likely benign...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It most likely seems to be benign condition secondary to inflammation or enlarged prostate gland. I would recommend that you drink plenty of fluids (unless you have fluid restriction). Recheck your medicines; antiplatelet / anticougulant drugs that increases incidence of bleeding are routinely prescribed after a heart attack. Talk to your doctor if you are on those drugs. Alternatively you can list them here.
If irritation is severe and troubling, I would order for an urine routine / microscopy and an ultrasound examination. Your treating doctor will know about it.
Hope this helps you. Let me know if you need clarifications.
Regards
