Brief Answer:
It is due to mild inflammation of small airways in lungs

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
There are large and small airways in the chest X ray. The smaller ones are usually not seen in the periphery of the lung due to their size. When there is mild infection or inflammation of the smaller airways, these become prominent and are seen more clearly. This pattern is called increased bronchovascular markings in the lungs. It can be due to asthma, wheeze or mild respiratory infection and is a temporary phase and is also called bronchitis or inflammation of bronchi which is the term used for small airways in lungs.

The chest X ray findings will return to normal after treatment. Please avoid extreme cold weather and dust pollution for a few days as it can cause more respiratory problems.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
