Brief Answer:
Sleep apnea likely

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
His diabetes is uncontrolled and he probably has sleep apnea. These symptoms can be related to sleep apnea. If a sleep study has not been done, it would be good to get one done.
Take care,

Yes, he does have sleep apnea, and has had a first sleep study. His doctor wants a second study done, but he cannot afford one . His main concern right now is the tensing of his muscles and the shaking. Followed by headaches. Weakness and being very tired. These symptoms have just started about a month or two ago. It has just come to my attention that he did remove a tick from under his belly, that had become very sore. I do not know all the symptoms of Lyme Deseace, but could this be a possibility?

Brief Answer:
Sleep apnea more likely

Detailed Answer:
The symptoms are not suggestive of Lyme's disease but of sleep apnea. The muscle spasm and shaking occurs when he has an episode of apnea. The headache and sleepiness are the after effects. Encourage him to control his food , exercise and lose weight which will help reduce the sleep apnea. Sleeping on his side and not on the back, reduces the sleep apnea.
His blood sugar also requires to be controlled and preferably without insulin and sulphonyl Urea type of medicines which increase weight and worsen the sleep apnea.
Take care,
