What Causes Lower Back Pain And Tightness Behind The Knee After Playing Badminton?

Question: Dr. XXXXXXX Tayal
Thank you for the follow up.
If you recall my case, its my lower back that is giving me pain.
Since the 2 injections to my back, the pain at the back of my knee is gone and I have resumed badminton. Unfortunately, after my 2 hours of badminton, I feel tightness at the back of my knee the next morning. The same feeling I had before but a milder version.
The doctor I saw said the next procedure, a long term cure, is an operation to cut off some bones in my L4 & L5.
Can I seek your opinion if an alternative is available? I rather not go through an operation. Are there any exercises , alternative medicine or something else I can try that can allow me to continue playing badminton?
Thanks!
Best regards

Brief Answer:
Start with back strengthening exercises and swimming.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Surgery is the last option for the bulging discs if all the medical treatment fails. In your mild case, it is best to start with back strengthening exercises and stretching exercises under the guidance of a proficient physiotherapist. Regular swimming will also help.
You can take mild pain killer and muscle relaxant on as and when required basis. Do a regular hot compress of the lower back and improvise your body posture.
All these measures can help in delaying the surgery by many years.
I hope this answers your query.
