default
Posted on Tue, 14 Feb 2017
Question: I have a lower abdominal pain in the right side. I can totally relieve the pain by lying on my last side. When I stand up it is quite intense....almost a burning sensation. If I support my abdomen with my hand the pain decreases.

Brief Answer:
Possible hernia

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.

It may be caused by hernia which is extra-abdominal cause and it is more likely than intraabdominal cause which would not improve on changing positions. If this is lower part of abdomen close to the inguinal region, then it may be an inguinal hernia, however if this is higher then it may be Spigelian hernia. I suggest to do CTscan to rule this out.

Wish you good health. Regards
