What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain?

default
Posted on Thu, 23 Apr 2015
Question: Hello. My husband is experiencing lower abdominal pain & a constant need to sit on the toilet. He sits down about 5 times a day. This has been going on for 9 days now. He went to the doctor & had a stool sample taken & it came back all clear.
He had no other symptoms, no fever, bloating, loss of appetite, or rash.
He's cut out meat, dairy & sugar from his diet...about 4 days now & no change.
Sometimes he has diarrea, sometimes nothing comes out but the urge is strong & constant.

Brief Answer:
a probiotic can be added.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, I would advise that he can be given a probiotic daily along with a digestive enzyme preparation containing pepsin and fungal diastase after meals for relief. An antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with Domperidone 30mg should also be taken. He should eat light meals prepared under hygienic conditions.
I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
