Question: 64 yr old, Ht. 6' Wt. 186#. Usually extremely healthy with no health conditions except childhood asthma and occasional wheezing from environmental dust exposure at work --wears mask when working in dust or smokey areas, never smoked. Uneventful day and evening (some physical labor, work out at gym on elliptical and weight machines, drank water throughout day and with exercise, usual evening meal at 6:30pm of fish, vegetables, glass of water and one glass red wine, to bed at 9:30pm. Awakened from sleep approximately 0330am with itching in left dorsal moving to palm of hand, then noticed right palm itching, then feet. Checked blood pressure, 87/56. heart rate 56. Slight light headedness. Drank 3 cups water. Within 10 minutes blood pressure 97/62, hr 68. Felt clammy, skin under arms and trunk erythematous (Usual skin complexion pale, Irish, red headed). Left hand more redness than right. Urinated, sudden onset of nausea, vomited all liquids, urge to defecate, had formed stool. Now 0430am, taking water without nausea or vomiting, no longer light headed. itching lessening on left hand dorsal and palm. Could spider bite cause any of these symptoms? No visible welt, just left general dorsal and palmar redness, subsiding pinkness under arms and on trunk. Thank you for your consultation.

Brief Answer:
You are mostly having acute viral illness.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
By your history and description, in my opinion you are mostly having acute viral illness.
Skin lesions, vomiting of sudden onset is suggestive of viral etiology more.
And relief immediately is also suggestive of viral etiology.
So at present, no need to worry but if similar symptoms occur then consult doctor and get done blood investigations.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
