default
Posted on Wed, 10 Jun 2015
Question: I have high blood pressure which has been under control. Also take a diurectic. Recently after lunch my blood pressure goes extremely low and I feel fatigued for a short time. My doc said I don't have low blood pressure so stop the diurectic. But I have the same symptons. Feel fine, take a yoga class and I work out
at the gym. Waiting for a follow appt. with my primary care.

Brief Answer:
It is a result of a reflex

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs,

There is a syndrome, during which there is a fall in blood pressure, weakness, sweating, heartbeats are also common. It is a reflex, when the volume of stomach increases after eating, it stimulates vagus nerve, which causes such symptoms.
The solution can be eating with small amounts and don't drink water with meal.
Your doctor can try the diuretic as well, if there will be no blood pressure increase.

Hope I could help you

Wishing you good health
