Brief Answer:
imodium takes 48 hours for effect. take ORS to prevent dehydration

Detailed Answer:
WELCOME
i understood your question.

milk of magnesia is used for a short time to treat occasional constipation. It is a laxative (osmotic-type). it is also used to treat symptoms caused by too much stomach acid such as heartburn, upset stomach, or indigestion. So too much intake and improper dose may lead to loose motion.

Imodium slows the rhythm of digestion
Drink plenty of liquids while you are taking Imodium. It may take up to 48 hours of taking Imodium before diarrhea improve. use the medication as directed by your doctor.

Do not use Imodium if you are allergic to loperamide, or if you have
stools that are bloody, black, or tarry; or
if you have diarrhea that is caused by taking an antibiotic.

To prevent dehydration due to watery stools, i advise you to take ORS powder mixed in a glass of water.

Hope you are satisfied with the answer
