default
Posted on Tue, 27 Jun 2017
Question: In the last few of days, the middle of my back has started to hurt, not badly, but uncomfortable at times. Also, experience tingling sensation. Recently, in the last 2 days my stools have been runny/liquidy/watery (drinking a lot of water) and bloody. Recently I have started working out, exercising more, running, walking and completely changed my diet. I used to drink alcohol a lot, but now just moderate since I have been exercising, eating more healthy and staying active. I am 45, but feel and look like 35.

Brief Answer:
Colonoscopy should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Blood in stool (mixed with it) and loose stool can be caused by an infection or inflammatory bowels disease. Drinking lots of water does not cause watery stool in normal conditions.
Fever would be present in case of bacterial infection. So most likely this is not the case. Back pain can be associated with pancreas issues or large intestine inflammation.
I suggest you to consult gastrologist. Stool tests and colonoscopy are the right tests to determine the reason.

Hope this helps.
Regards.

Thank you for your input. I will consult a physician ASAP. Is there anything over the counter I can take until I can get in to see the doctor? I also am feeling congestive in my chest that I can't seem to get rid of!

Brief Answer:
Probiotic can help.

Detailed Answer:
Probiotic and Loperamide should give some relief. For chest congestion you may try saline inhalations.
