What Causes Lightheadedness After Suffering An Electric Shock?

Question: I received an electric shock this morning (approx 7 hours ago) from my toaster. the safety switch went off, my muscles in my arms tensed for a second, felt like a pinching sensation, and my heart started to race. after the initial shock of what happened to me, I was able to calm my heart rate down and have felt reasonably normal since. except my a slight lightheadedness/fogginess. I have been anxious about it since and constantly thinking about ut, but have been functioning like normal. Is there any possibility of a delay severe reaction or would what I am feeling just be my anxiety?

Hi,

I am sorry for the accident you had (electric shock).


You have experienced an electric shock seven hours ago. Fortunately, you were lucky and you are generally fine now.

You have experienced some trauma and scary moments for your life. Your lightheadedness after that and your constantly thinking about what happened are absolutely just normal anxiety after the accident. Drink a glass of cold water immediately. Or can have a sugary juice to get better.

As long as you are functioning normal, there is nothing to worry about. Unless, you might experience any unusual symptom like severe muscle spasms or any other, then, should seek medical help.
