Brief Answer:
Possible fluid under the knee cup

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
I read it carefully and I understand your concern.

You will need to do a physical exam to determine why your knee its swollen. In general the swelling its because of fluid under the knee cup. A MRI would make it clear the cause of the fluid and where is the damage and what repair will be needed.

For now, until you go to a doctor I will recommend to use Ibuprofen 400 mg every 6 hours. It will lower the inflamation and a possible pain.
Keep the legs elevated.
Use compression socks.
Ice or heat in the knee may help too.

Hope this is helpful.
