What Causes Knee Pain?

default
Posted on Sat, 29 Mar 2014
Question: I RECEIVED SOME INJECTIONS IN MY KNEES LAST WEEK AND THE DR INDICATED I WOULD PROBABLY NEED FULL KNEE REPLACEMENTS IN THE FUTURE. I WAS TOLD TO RETURN IN 3 MONTHS TO FOLLOW-UP. THE SHOTS SEEMED TO BE EFFECTIVE (CORTIZONE?) FOR A FEW DAYS, BUT NOW ONE KNEE IS SO BAD THAT I AM UNABLE TO PUT ANY WEIGHT ON IT AND I REALLY CANNOT WALK. IT DOESN'T HURT AT ALL UNLESS I TRY TO WALK. I did twist my leg (the same side as the knee) after getting the shots, but didn't feel any problem in the knee until a few days later…seems to be getting progressively worse.. I AM A LITTLE UNSURE OF WHAT COULD BE WRONG…IT IS MUCH WORSE THAN BEFORE I WENT TO THE DR. IN THE FIRST PLACE. I am 69 and do have arthritis, have had ALF surgery on my back.

Brief Answer: Need to be further evaluated by doctor... Detailed Answer: Hi, I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. I suggest to consult with the doctor who did the shot to you in order to re-evaluate the status of the knee. Although twisting of the knee did not cause any pain, it might have caused damages associated with later pain. Meanwhile, I suggest to not to move the knee and apply warm clothing and local analgesic cream to reduce the symptoms. Dr.Sejdini
