Brief Answer:
It is likely to be osteoarthritis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.

I'm Dr. Sudhir Kumar,

After going through your query I concluded that you may be having osteoarthritis of knee as it is common in your age. It can be confirmed by x ray of both knee AP view in standing.

I generally treat such persons coming to my clinic empirically by Diacerine and glucosamine. Analgesic such as ibuprofen (you already taking) is helpful in pain relief. Quadriceps exercises are started after pain relief. Hot fomentation is helpful.

I want to ask some additional questions from you:-
1.Since how many days it is painful.
2. Since how many days it is swollen and the area around the knee cap is tender to the touch.

You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Wishing you good health.
Take care.
