What Causes Joint Pain While On Cepodem And Darolac?

default
Posted on Mon, 25 Sep 2017
Question: Hi,
I am having muscle and joint pains since 15 days. I visited a general physician a week ago and I was asked to take tests (vitamin B12, Vitamin D & CBP). Attached are the reports for your reference.
I was suggested to take the following medicines:
1. TAB CEPODEM 200 - 5 DAYS
2. TAB DAROLAC - 5 DAYS

Based on the reports, due to Vitamin B12 and D low levels, I was asked to take following medicines:
1. NUROKIND-PLUS - 60 DAYS
2. CALCIROL - 8 WEEKS (WEEKLY ONCE) - MONTHLY ONCE FOR 10 MONTHS

I don't see any improvement in muscle and joint pains. Compared to last 10 days the pains have increased and I am having disturbed sleep and tiredness.

Please suggest if I need to go for any medical test.

Regards,
xxxxxx

Brief Answer:
CRP is increased.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Your CRP is increased and RF is normal. This suggests a mild inflammation. You need to take anti inflammatory medicine also like aceclofenac or ibuprofen for improvement.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to post viral arthritis.

Detailed Answer:
CRP stands for C-reactive protein. The levels rise in case of inflammation. It does not indicate any specific disease. Your joint pain can be related to post viral arthritis. Proper pain killers for 4-6 weeks will help in improvement of symptoms.
You can consult an orthopedician for proper prescriptions.
Putting extra weight can be associated with low levels of thyroid hormone. The levels also need to be evaluated. The tiredness will gradually improve with proper treatment.
Regards.
