What Causes Itchy Blisters On My Scalp And Face?

default
Posted on Sat, 31 May 2014
Question: Yes! Since December I have had itchy blisters on my scalp and face. It felt like my head was on fire when thus first started. Now my left temple is swelled and it feels like something is crawling on it. I run about 100 degree fever for about an hour every afternoon. I have many floaters in my right eye and it looks like I'm looking out of a cloudy windshield. My scalp is very tender. My neck is stiff and painful. I have had two episodes of pain that starts at the top the right side of my scalp and goes to my temple down by my ear and right under the jaw bone. I have been to a neurologist, rheumatologist, dermatologist, a neuro optimologist, ears nose and throat, I have hypothyroidism. I have just had an MRI last week don't know the result. I have had a lot of blood work and it all comes back normal

Brief Answer:
I need some clarifications.

Detailed Answer:
hi mrs XXXXX,
hope you are in good health.
Going by your symptoms, i guess you might be having two different problems in the same area. I need some clarifications.
1.What exactly is the type of scalp blisters? what are they identified as by your dermatologist?? Neurological (eg: herpes zoster) or Dermatological blisters (eczema, fungal infection or bacterial folliculitis)?
2. Do floaters and scalp tenderness are episodic or constant through out? If episodic, what is the timing, any aggravating or relieving factors? Do you also have eye ball pain, nausea and vomiting?
3. Your neck is stiff and painful, have you undergone Cerebrospinal fluid analysis or brain scan? if so, what does the report say?
4. Also mention the drugs you are kept on, the response you got from them.

Sorry, this seems like too much of questioning, but let me confess, these are very important for correct diagnosis.
