Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thank you for posting your query on Healthcare Magic.

I appreciate your concern regarding the skin condition of your mother and i will try to answer your query in best possible way.

Firstly, itching over skin is a general symptom can be attributed to numerous causes.

Since your mother is suffering from chronic kidney disease and diabetes plus she is only various medications, any of the above can lead to itching over body.

Also, in old age skin hydration is reduced and its sensitivity to external environment is exaggerated leading to itching all over body, commonly termed as senile pruritus.

The definitive diagnosis and thus the management rest rests upon proper clinical examination and laboratory investigations and tests.

I would insist you to share some clinical pictures of the condition in the follow up question so that i can help you in a better way.

Anyways, to relieve itching i would suggest you any over-the-counter product containing mixture of calamine, liquid paraffin, and pramoxine.

Tablet Alaspan contains loratidine, which has some effect on renal function. So i would suggest you shift over to tablet containing des-loratidine.

Hope this will take care of your condition.

I would suggest you to share your pictures in a follow up question or if you are satisfied with the answer and feel your queries are rightly resolved you can close the answer.
