What Causes Itching On Arch Of Foot?

Question: My 85 yo mom has itching on ankle to inside of arch of foot... no injury to area... also has itching on hand at times ... can put limited pressure on foot and it's better when she walks with cane. No pain in foot when immobile. What is going on? Thanks for your help.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Due to her age her circulation in lower limbs is decreased. This may be cause of iching.It is useful to take cetrizine whenever she has iching. She should get her blood sugar fasting to rule out diabetes as it can be cause of iching. Whever she walks she got pain due to arthritis as it is common in her age. Using can reduce pain by taking partial weight so that less weight is born by foot.Analgesic such as ibuprofen will be helpful in pain relief.
