What Causes Itching Around Labia After Menstruation?

Question: for the past 3 days i was really itchy which i felt was normal since before my periods i usually itch at the base of my labia. 2 days ago i was still itching so i decided to look (with a mirror) and noticed a flat red spot on the inner "lips". Its not raised but it itches. can someone help me
