What Causes Itching All Over Body?

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Apr 2014
Question: I have had extremely itchy skin from shoulders to toes for over 7 weeks now. Tested negative for allergies, and positive for a slightly low vitamin D level (27). No one seems to know what to do with me. I have no hives, but have developed tiny Skin tags in all places where skin touches skin (armpits, under breasts, inside elbows) Any suggestions?

Brief Answer: Get Liver function and thyroid tests done Detailed Answer: Hello Than ks for the query. There is a possibility of deranged liver function. Rise in bilirubin levels can lead to such unexplained itch. Similar condition is also seen in hypothyroidism. I advise you to get liver function test and T3, T4, TSH levels done. Let me know the report so I could help you better. Till then you can take anti histamine tablet. Vit D3 levels are not related to itch. Waiting for your response. Thank you
