Brief Answer:
Stop the gel and report to your treating doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the darkness of the neck area and irritation after the use of supatret gel.

After analyzing your query with best diligence I can make out that you got contact allergy after the use of the prescribed gel.

It is quite common to find such kind of irritation if the gel is applied in higher than a required amount or if there is exposure to sunlight or due sweating of the affected area.

I generally suggest my patients to apply the gel at night time. A pea size amount is sufficient for palm size area. It is never to be rubbed and to be applied gently.

I suggest you to stop the gel for a time being produced and report it to the treating doctor. Do cold compression over the affected area by a towel soaked in cold water. You can do it for 3 to 4 times if the irritation is high till you meet our treating doctor.

I hope this helps. I will be glad to guide you any further.

With regards,

Brief Answer:
Do not apply the gel or moisturizers and report to doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome back and thanks for your further follow up.

I suggest you to not to use the gel as it can further irritate the skin. In cases of irritation and redness supatret or related cream should never be continued as can cause further aggravation.

I suggest you to meet your treating doctor in person and report this problem. A proper treatment with certain other topical agents can be suggested in your kind of situation.

Keep yourself away from direct sunlight and stay in cool places. Avoid every possible chances of sweating and touching the area.

Do cold compressions only and do not apply any moisturizers as can induce more sweating.

I hope this information will help you.

With regards,

Dr Sanjay Kanodia
