What Causes Irregular Periods?

Question: hi doctor,
i have made a pregnancy test and its negatif. For this month ive have my period late but one day only and then last week i have them for 3 days constantly. i keep waking up with feeling to vomitting and sometimes during the day. Do you think its my hormones going unormal?

Irregular periods can be due to pregnancy or any hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactemia or polycystic ovarian disease.
If urine pregnancy test is negative, then the pregnancy is ruled out.
Vomiting can be due to other reasons like gastroenteritis etc.
I will suggest you to get your hormonal profile done and get appropriate treatment.

its more the feeling of vomiting that i have almost all day. hormonal disturbances can happen like this for no reason? because ive allwayz been regular and its only this month that my period is irregular plus the feeling of vomiting and the fact that i feel more tired.thank you for your response

Repeat pregnancy test after one week

Hi dear, if this has happened for the first time, then I will suggest you to repeat a urine pregnancy test after1 week.
If still negative, then you should get your hormonal profile done.
Vomiting can be due to several reasons, including pregnancy.
Ig urine pregnancy test is negative, then you shshould consult a physician for proper examination, ininvestigations and treatment of vomiting. Hormonal disturbances are unlikely to cause vomiting.
