Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
I need a few more details please.
Before May, were your periods regular ?
When did you last have a period ?
What is your height and weight ?
Can you upload the blood work that shows a post menopausal status ?
Was it a very vigorous massage ?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.

Hi thank you so much for replying my periods have been off prior a little bit but they suddenly stopped in May. I did have an incident where I twisted and felt a pop but the doctor I saw said its not related. I had blood work done and my LH and FSH said post menopause my thyroid was fine. I'm just frustrated as I went to the doc when this started and have felt awful for awhile now. Thank you again for your help!

I am trying to upload my blood work but can't - can I send it via email?

Thank you for sending the reports.
I have gone through them.
Yes, the blood work shows that you are nearing menopause.
Irregular periods are normal during this phase.
So you may go without a period for months, or have two in a row, as you just did.
It is a period of hormonal fluctuations, until you ease off into total menopause.
So do not worry.
This is not of concern.
Just have regular 6 monthly gynec checkups, and annual Pap smears and pelvic ultrasound scans.
All the best.

Thank you so much.
My transvaginal ultrasound was good but they now want to do a brain scan and check my pituitary glands. Also I didn't get two periods in a row.
May was the first time I didn't get one and missed 4 periods, docs said I was perimenopause I gained about 25 pounds. Went for a massage in October and got my period. No period November, December, late January went for a massage again and got my period the next day for one day. Why would a massage bring it on?

Detailed Answer:
Pure coincidence.
A massage does not bring on a period, what kind of massage was it anyway ?
It is just hormonal imbalance, that leads to erratic periods.

Thank you so much - you have no idea how much better I feel. The doctor I saw told me he thinks I have a Tumor so he has booked me for a ct scan.
Another doctor recommended to start the birth control pill and another doctor recommended hormone therapy. What would you recommend, I've put on so much weight and not feeling so good about myself, just want to be happy again!

Sorry my massage was just a relaxation massage but she also did reiki on my stomach.

Detailed Answer:
I do not think that you would have a tumour.
Sometimes, a small growth of the pituitary gland ( prolactinoma ) can lead to hormonal imbalances, such as those that you have.
But the chances are small, and it is not even a tumour per se, just an overgrowth in that part of the brain.
Dont worry.
Go for the scan, and let me know the results.
Relax, until then.
Hormone therapy is almost the same as the birth control pill.
The BC pill too has hormones in it, it can help to a certain extent, to regulate your cycles.
If you are okay with no periods, then you do not need to start anything
YOu may try hormone therapy for a few months, to help with the depression and the weight gain.
Try exercising, that always helps !
Take care.
