What Causes Intermittent Vibrations All Over The Body?

default
Posted on Mon, 27 Feb 2017
Question:
Dear doctor XXXXXXX XXXXXXX sir, from a few weeks, I feel weak, Moody, exhausted.

I also observed that my body kind of vibrates. Like shivering slightly. I don't know how to explain this. Light vibration in the whole body.

If I move my eye balls right & left or up & down, I feel slight pain. I also noticed my heart beats very fast when I get slight vibration like this.

I have consulted my family physician. He told me to eat properly, get enough sleep. Gave some tables too.

My family physician also told me to see a Neurologist. I went to a Neurologist but he told me to consult a Psychiatrist.

# What is the reason for this shivering or vibration?

# is this something to worry about?

i would reuest you to give a detailed explanation about all this doctor. because i am really confused how to explain these things to anybody. i hope u understand. these things cannot be explained in detail & will not be sure if the person on the other side is understanding this. For example, if somebody is having fever, headache that can be explained clearly but in my case, how to explain? i hope u r understanding what am trying to say now & hope u understood my question to u.

pls help me.

I have symptoms which include shaking of body, tremors, palpitations, moody.

Anxiety and panic, sweating, nausea (but no vomiting sensation), difficulty in facing situations, dryness of mouth.

I feel depressed most of the times. loss of interest, lack of sleep, early morning awakening, lack of appetite

Brief Answer:
It appears to be a depressive episode but needs evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
From what you have stated it is quite clear that you are having a depressive episode. But still for all practical purpose one needs to rule out other causes which can lead to similar symtpoms. Ideally we should go for the following blood tests:
1. Thyroid profile
2. Blood sugars
3. Serum Cortisol
4. Complete Blood Count
5. Serum B12
6. Serum D3
Impairment in any of these parameters can also cause the mentioned symptoms, so it would be wise to get them tested. But mostly it appears to be a depressive episode.
Depression can occur with regular stress and it can also occur biologically without any stress as well. You need proper treatment for the same. There are various effective therapies for depression like fluoxetine, venlafaxine, bupropion, mirtazapine or escitalopram and they are all very effective and mostly safe. You may also require some benzodiazepines like clonazepam or lorazepam for a short period like 2-3 weeks to reduce the anxiety and help with your sleep.
If you are averse to the drug therapies then there is also an option of cognitive behavioural therapy. This therapy is taken by either a psychologist or a psychiatrist in which the therapist identifies impaired cognitions (Thoughts) and try to correct them. They are 15-20 min weekly session and there should be around 8-10 sessions to help you with your illness.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.

Thank you sir.

(1) Is this something to worry about or is this very common as u may have seen many cases like this.

(2) Can u pls suggest a good psychiatrist /psychologist in XXXXXXX where I can go for the therapy? because most of the specialists will know doctors in other cities from same profession u know.

(3) Even if I go to visit one, should I explain all over again or shall I show this discussion which would explain my problem effectively?
Because as u know these things r very difficult to explain. I had visited a psychiatrist a few months back but after explaining in all possible ways, all he told was "be calm, do not worry about anything, try not to concentrate on these things". This reduces the hopes to visit any doctor & will feel fed up of explaining these unexplainable things.

(4) Another problem. Whenever I am explaining something to someone for example if I am training something to my juniors or while talking to girl friend over the phone and also directly, I end up pronouncing words incorrectly, stammer, slurry speech. This happens because I will be over conscious thinking "If I do any grammatical error while speaking, what would she think" / "If she thinks that I am not telling the truth" / "whatever I am training to my junior if he thinks I am trying to show attitude while explaining" etc.

Sometimes it happens because I will be having thousands of things running on my mind that I want to communicate, but those thoughts won't be delivered through words in the same place, I get stuck & my speech ends up with incorrect pronunciation, slurry speech & again makes me conscious, I end up feeling bad about myself.

(5) I really feel bad sir. I wasn't like this before. I was like a boss in whatever I used to do. These days I am feeling that I am good for nothing. Though I have ten years of work experience, I am not able to exhibit my confidence in my company, sales meetings, while giving sales presentations to my clients.

SORRY FOR THE LENGTHY EXPLANATION. PLS ANSWER TO ALL THE POINTS STEP BY STEP & IN DETAIL SIR.

THANK YOU.

Ans: Its very common and nothing to worry about. It has good results.

(2) Can u pls suggest a good psychiatrist /psychologist in XXXXXXX where I can go for the therapy? because most of the specialists will know doctors in other cities from same profession u know.
Ans; You can contact Dr. XXXXXXX in XXXXXXX His contact number is 0000

(3) Even if I go to visit one, should I explain all over again or shall I show this discussion which would explain my problem effectively?

Ans: Do both of it. Take this discussion with you and also have a clear discussion. One bad experience should not deter you from approaching people.

(4) Another problem. Ans: This feeling, including the ones you mentioned before is due to anxiety itself. Please seek treatment, it will help you.

(5) I really feel bad sir. I wasn't like this before. I was like a boss in whatever I used to do. These days I am feeling that I am good for nothing.
