Detailed Answer:
Hello!

welcome and thank you for asking on HMC!

I understand your concern and would explain that some palpitations or skipped heart beats are quite normal during physical or emotional stress in every healthy individual. Coffee can also trigger them.

From the other hand your cardiac performed tests have shown a normal heart function and structure and have excluded coronary artery disease.

So relax and don't worry too much.

If these problems persist, I would recommend performing two other tests:

- an ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring to examine your heart rhythm trends during the day
- thyroid hormone levels to exclude possible thyroid dysfunction
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance.

If all the above tests result normal, you should consider anxiety and caffeine the main causes of these troubles.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Why do i have to wear this Holter ? & Is it something serious if i didn't ? As i hate these tests & it makes me annoying & nervouse .
As long my cardiac tests whic i have done are normal . This mean that i ruled out the dangerous issues or still there is a probability ?
Thanks

My answer as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

As I have explained before these skipped heart beats are quite normal and can occur in every normal individual.

But sometimes that can be related to thyroid dysfunction or a cardiac arrhythmia.

Your cardiac performed tests have not shown any serious heart condition.

But, they can not rule out possible cardiac arrhythmia (as the cardiac stress test, cardiac ultrasound or resting ECG) can examine your heart rhythm only for a short period and maybe those skipped heart beats can not be registered (because they have not occurred during these tests).

An ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring (Holter) would be more reassuring that you have a normal heart rhythm, because it would be more appropriate to catch (register) those heart beats, and report the total daily number of them. This would be important to rule in/out possible arrhythmia.

But, considering your cardiac performed tests, it is not really necessary to perform further tests, unless these skipped heart beats because a problem for you and you need to be reassured about them.

Hope to have clarified some of your uncertainties!

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri
