What Causes Intermenstrual Vaginal Bleeding?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Jun 2014
Question: I'm in day 12 of my cycle (according to my ovulation app) and we are trying to conceive. We were waiting to have sex until my fertile window - which was meant to be today. Last night I started bleeding, starting light-red and then this morning it was XXXXXXX brown. I also had some cramps last night. My period ended literally a week ago, why is this happening? Am I ok?

Brief Answer:
ovulation pain probably.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there..

Thanks for writing in...

The first thing that comes to my mind is ovulation pain/ midcycle pain.. ..also known as mittelschmerz pain, since you say that it was slight bleeding accompanied with cramps. It is seen in a few percentage of healthy women when they are ovulating, and is nothing to worry about. The pain and slight bleeding usually subsides in a couple of hours or maximum 1 or 2 days.

If symptoms persist beyond 2 days, please visit your gynaecologist.

Hope this information was helpful to you.

Does this mean I'm ovulating Early and have missed the window to conceive? Or I should try to have intercourse with my husband asap?
