What Causes Increased Hair Loss And Dandruff?
I am a mother of two year old kid. The issue is that since my delivery I have been suffering from hair fall. I used to think that after delivery hair fall was normal so I didn't worry much at that time. When my baby was 6 months old my husband was transferred to a remote area and we all shifted there for a year. The water available at that island for daily use was lime water and that damaged my hair much more and along with heavy hair fall I started suffering from dandruff as well.
It has been more than 6 months now that we have shifted back to the city but the problem has worsen. And now i suffer from severe dandruff that sometimes causes small wounds due to itching and very severe hair fall. Even if I touch my hair a bunch just comes out of my scalp and everyday there are lots and lots of hair in my house, on my pillow, my comb, shower and everywhere. Hair has become very dry and dull.
Please help me out.
Management of dandruff and hair fall
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your entire history and understand your concern.
First of all I would recommend you to get your Haemoglobin, thyroid function tests and serum ferrtin levels checked to rule out anemia and thyroid disease as they are one of the most common causes of hair loss in females.
Besides this I would recommend you to use a shampoo containing combination of ketoconazole and salicylic acid twice weekly and apply a lotion containing combination of beclomethasone and clotrimazole on the itchy and scaly areas of the scalp twice daily.
Also take hair supplements like tablet keraglo XXXXXXX or tablet follihair once daily for 3 months and capsule itraconazole 100 mg twice daily for 2 weeks.
Once your dandruff improves in 15-20 days you can stop itraconazole capsule and beclomethasone and clotrimazole lotion and start with antihair fall serum like folliserum or anaboom antihair fall serum twice daily for atleast 3 months.
This will help your dandruff as well as hair fall.
These are prescription drugs and should be taken under the supervision of the doctor.
