Question: I am going thru this problem from last 7-8 months and have visited to Neuro, general physician, eyes specialist and ENT but not able get the solution of my problem. I have feeling of falling down and moving back and forth, lightheadedness and not able to focus properly on my computer screen. There was nothing in MRI, vitamin D3 was at 5 and Vitamin B12 was 225. I am taking sun upraise for Vitamin D3 from last 3 months but I don't see any improvement in my condition. General physician and ENT suggested to have vertin but that did not help either. I have observed one thing that when I am hungry I feel more like felling down, lightheadedness and dizziness and lack of focus. I am not confident while walking and take support of thing around me. I am 37 Yrs male and have been physically very active in my past. Please suggest what to do.

Brief Answer: Carotid artery Doppler Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for your query. There are two most common causes for dizziness like you have. One is vertigo which is result of any sort of damage to the balance controlling organ called Vestibular apparatus deep inside the ear. if this has a defect and causing dizziness, vertin should have shown response. The other cause to be ruled out in you decreased blood supply to the brain. This also can be worsened in hunger as the blood sugar level goes down. I suggest you to get a Carotid artery Doppler scan done. This will identify any defects the blood vessel which carries blood to the brain. if any the nature and location would be determined and suitable management planned. Wish you good health. Regards,
