default
Posted on Fri, 9 Oct 2015
Question: I am 66 years old. Yesterday I experienced horizontal double vision that lasted approx 5-6 minutes. I have in the recent past experience moment that my eye feel crossed but upon looking in the mirror they are not? I also don't know if this is related but on occasion I get the feeling that I am going to fall over and my eyes lose focus. I just had a complete eye exam and the only change is that my vision improved

Brief Answer:
Sounds like a TIA

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
I think you should visit a emergency department immediately.
The symptoms sound like a stroke/TIA.
You would need an MRI of the brain asap to rule out stroke.
The TIA is a feature where the symptoms are short lasting.
However, they are commonly followed by a full stroke within a week.
So do not delay.
Best of luck.
