Brief Answer:
Possible Chronic Sinusistis?Need Confirmation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,

I understand your concern.

You probably seem to have symptoms of chronic sinusitis.

This can cause accumulation of secretions within the sinus spaces of skull bones causing heaviness and periocular symptoms.

Likewise sensation of ear block is common.

In order to confirm the diagnosis,I advise you to get a CT scan of the paranasal sinuses.

This report will throw a lot of light on the treatment outcomes.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.

Hi

I understand your concern.

You need to consult an expert Otolaryngologist (ENT surgeon).

Yes this condition is very much curable.

FESS( functional endoscopic sinus surgery ) is usually offered to to clean the involved sinuses. This will offer permanent cure.

Brief Answer:
Non Pharmacological measures suggested.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,

I understand your concern.

In case if you are unwilling for any procedure,I would like to suggest few non pharmacological measures to keep your condition under control.
You can practice them at home.

These include--

- Take a bowl of boiled hot water and add a tea-spoon of salt in it. Inhale the salt mixed water vapor or Saline water vapor twice a day preferably at morning and before going to sleep. This helps to loosen mucus and discharge them easily.

- Add two pinches of salt in lukewarm water and gargle in times of Sinusitis attacks.

- Honey is very good for sinusitis patients. Make a habit of having 1 teaspoon of honey everyday.

- Try to take herbal teas such as, Green Tea, Tulsi Tea, Ginger Tea, Cinnamon Tea etc instead of milk tea.

- Cut raw gingers into very small pieces and mix salt with them. Make it completely dry placing in the sunlight or under your stove and then preserve it in an air tight container. Have some dry gingers (1 or 2 pinches) everyday.

- Eat salads containing raw onion and raw garlic.

- Have enough vitamin-C containing fruits and vegetables such as, Orange, Lemons, Green Chili etc.

- Avoid chocolates,milk products,cold drinks and ice-cream.

- Try to find out if any food increases your sinusitis pain. If there is any, avoid it.

- Never take shower with cold water. Use normal water in summer and warm water in winter to take shower. After shower try to dry your hair immediately.

- Try to practice some mild exercises preferably Yoga everyday. Meditation is also very helpful to lessen Sinusitis problem.

-Avoid dust and if you need to go somewhere dusty, use a mask to cover your mouth and nose.

Some Do's and Don't's

1.DO: Eat alkaline foods like vegetables, fruits (apples, bananas), almonds and use sweeteners like Stevia(sweet herb). Large amounts of water will also help.

DON'T: You should avoid things like starches, carb heavy foods, anything fried, berries, salt and meat like bacon or beef.

2.DO: Use decongestants, nasal sprays and other medicines recommended or prescribed by a doctor. They may be an extra step in your day but will definitely help.

DON'T: Carry on with your routines and ignore the value of rest. Exposure to the weather, and stress will not only prolong your sinusitis but also plant the seed for it becoming a chronic condition.

3.DO: Get some sleep. Your body regenerates during sleep and it will help your body combat the infection. Think of it as giving your immune system a full tank of gas.

DON'T: Overexert yourself. If your work environment is physically demanding or you’re athletic, you may need to tone it down. Your system is already weak and shocking it won’t help.

4.DO: Think about using a vaporizer at night. Congestion will go away a lot better if you thin out mucous while you’re sleeping.

DON'T: Expose yourself to any irritating fumes or smells. This includes smoking, room sprays and even mold.

Finally

DO: See an Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor. An ENT can not only help you deal with your sinuses but also uncover any undiscovered sinus problems causing problems.

DON'T: Ignore what’s happening. Worse still is trying to fix it yourself. Sinus infections are serious and there’s nothing wrong with getting an expert to help. Especially if it’ll help prevent it in the future.
