What Causes Heaviness In Chest, Mild Stomach Burns And Increased Heart Rate?

Question: Dear Sir,
From last six month suffering from Heaviness, fullness & mild burning of stomach with increase of heart rate which is about 100-110 around. Sometime heaviness in chest which is also referring to left back side with burning pain in left forearm to hand. whole day eructation which gives relief for some time also frequent gasping. Sometime occipital headache.

Kindly suggest appropriate medication to relieve from all troubles.

Dear

Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and a symptom wise approach is necessary:

1. since baseline investigations [ECG/ECHO/USG] are normal thus other causes to exclude are:

. Since chest pain is not related with heart/lungs but is associated with heaviness/fullness with slight burning in stomach thus one should look out for possibility of ‘GASTRITIS’ since it is not a single disease BUT condition which has many causes.

PS. Check with a Gastroenterologist for examination [history/physical] and investigation [Endoscopy for H. Pylori infection]

 2. any history of :
.  Stress : mental/physical?
. Social habits [addiction]?
. Any abuse of pain killers or Iron tablets [anemia]?
. Blood in stools?

PS. Sweating, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath,headache, chest pain can accompany in severe gastritis.

 
3. Do let me know regarding above questionnaire for further Ayurveda Treatment and, till then Dietary Regime and Lifestyle Management  can be started:

a. Take: old brown rice, bitter gourd,white gourd,green vegetables,cold water, harad, garlic,honey,pomegranate,amla,rice gruel, cold milk.

b. Avoid: alcohol, pain killers,chick pea flour, black gram,horse gram,potato,brinjal,rock salt,spicy food,tea/coffee,curd,sour food,day time sleeping,sesame,junk food
c. Have regular meals, avoid period of starvation- take small snacks in between.
d. Take regular sleep and adequate rest.
e. Avoid swallowing of Air, e.g. sipping of air, chewing gum,aerated drinks.
f. Eat slowly,avoid haste,chew properly and avoid over eating.
g. Close the mouth while belching.
h. Try to suck a piece of clove for immediate relief
i.Fresh mint juice
j. Glass of warm water [early morning]
k.Suck 10 gm jaggery everyday [after meals]

Thanks for reverting back and do let me know what the Gastroenterologist thinks of your problem, till then we have to treat your symptoms on the line of 'Amal pitta"

1. Drink 4 spoons of aegle marmelos leaves juice for 14 days.

2. Mix:
. 3 pinch dry ginger powder
. 3 pinch dry XXXXXXX gooseberry powder
. 3 pinch sugar. ..and eat the mixture for 1 month

3. Avipattikar churna,, XXXXXXX lauha, patoladi kwatha, sutshekhar ras, XXXXXXX XXXXXXX ras are the recommended prescription drugs for you.

4. Do add tablet Mentat or Brahmi vati to calm the mind.
