What Causes Heart Palpitations?

default
Posted on Tue, 21 Oct 2014
Question: I have been experiencing heart palpitations for years. Sometimes they can be quite aggressive and other times quite mild. Although not all day, I do have this every day, and at different times.
I have, over the years had a number of ECGs and other checks. Can this condition be a normal/natural phenomena?

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Don't worry, if exam results ok. It's normal...

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

Heart palpitation are more likely due to premature ventricular bits. Those are normal if no other problem is found on cardiac examinations.

If you were my patient I would like to suggest running the following exams:
- Cardiac Echo
- Holter monitoring

If everything normal you have nothing to worry about.
Hope this answer your query!
