Brief Answer:
Yes- This is not uncommon

Detailed Answer:
Good afternoon. My name is Dr. Dariush Saghafi and I am a neurologist and headache subspecialist in the XXXXXXX OH area.

The direct answer to your question about having headaches in the same exact location of your head all the time is YES.....it can and does happen. There are other people for whom headaches can change either side to side or go to different locations from front to back and there are others who will describe pain that wraps around the entire head like a tight band.

If your MRI was normal, I'm not surprised, most imaging studies are but the odd thing about pain in the head when it comes to headache medicine is that location of the pain doesn't necessarily correspond to anything WRONG going on at that spot or below that spot in the head or the brain.

It just happens to be where the pain has decided to manifest itself. And as I said, there are many many people with headaches who are as regular at hurting in the same spot time after time as there are those who have headaches in different spots or locations.

There is a device that you may be interested in knowing about which could be very useful for this type of headache since it does happen in the same location. Have you ever heard of a SOOTHEAWAY device? You can find more information on it at www.sootheaway.com. I prescribe it here at the VA Hospital in the Headache clinic and the vast majority of patients would rather give up Christmas than give up their SOOTHEAWAY devices, it's that effective.

Take a look at it and see what you think because if medication is not entirely effective then, something like this just may be good for you.

I hope the information I've provided has helped you gain better knowledge of the problem you're experiencing and if that's the case would you do me the great favor of providing a little written feedback with a STAR RATING. I'll get another bag of peanuts to pop in my mouth while I'm answering questions if you do that for me! LOL.

Also, if there are no further comments or questions on this thread then, by CLOSING THE QUERY on your end you would signal to the network that I've satisfactorily answered your question and that it may be processed, credited, and archived for future reference.

If you do have future questions and can put up with my crazy humor you are more than welcome to write more directly to my attention (DARIUSH SAGHAFI) on this network.

I also am available for real time webcam conferencing on Wed.-Sat. 3am (ET) and Sundays 11p-3a just in case either your cats or headaches keep you up and you might have other questions that could be better handled through real time video or audiostreaming. You can find me at www.healthtap.com/drsaghafi.

All the best to you....and your cats (I've NO IDEA whether you've got cats...just a guess....should I try out as a MEDIUM for that show???)! HA!
