Brief Answer:
Less likely to be a tumour....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concern. But sporadic short lasting headaches doesn't seem to be a brain tumour. It is definitely not a symptom that makes me jump / suspect a brain tumour.

Can you describe the lump in your throat? Perhaps you might have minor infection that triggered the headache and nausea. It's just broad assumption. I would like to understand about the "lump" before commenting further.

the lump feels like tightness in my throat. last night while i was trying to sleep, as i was about to fall asleep i had this sudden gasp for air too. i dont know if it was anxiety or what.

Brief Answer:
Could be anxiety....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Tightness of the throat and the breathing difficulty you noticed can be due to anxiety. In fact, I would list it first in my differential; however if you have no previous history of anxiety then we need to conduct few tests before arriving at anxiety diagnosis.

Rest assured, the tightness and breathing difficulty has nothing to do with the recent headache. Further it has no relation to brain tumour.

At this point of time, I would suggest you to relax. Try deep breathing exercises, yoga/meditation and see if you feel better. If symptoms persist or recur, visit a local doctor who can run some tests including hemoglobin, serum vitamin and metabolic work up. Endoscopy might be needed (less likely though).

Hope that helped. Feel free to ask follow up queries before closing discussion.

Brief Answer:
Symptoms not related to brain tumor...

Detailed Answer:
I understand you are unable to sleep due to nausea, heart burn and breathlessness, However be rest assured, these are not related to brain tumor.

I suggest you try proton pump inhibitors and prokinetic drugs for few weeks. You can switch over to low spicy food and restrict caffeinated beverages. Make sure you take your dinner atleast 2 hours before you go to bed. These changes and the drugs will make you feel better.

I also feel you may have anxiety following this set of problems. If it is affecting your day to day activities, a small dose of antianxiety medication can be extremely helpful. Since you are too young for all these, talk to your parents and seek prompt medical attention.

Brief Answer:
Worthwhile to consult an expert...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Sleep is something that is important while dealing GERD issues. If you are unable to sleep adequately, it would be worthwhile to discuss about it with your treating doctor or an expert psychologist. I start my patients on a low dose antianxiety drug such as clonazepam while referring them for counselling sessions. The medications and few sessions with the doctor sets thing right.

In the meanwhile you should also continue proton pump inhibitor and prokinetic agents.

I understand you have a problem; but it's a rectifiable one. Please talk about it with your elders and plan the visit to a doctor.
