Question: im a letter carrier for usps and on Tuesday I worked in 98 degrees heat. I walked for 5 hours and my whole body started to become stiff and muscles were aching. Then my head started pounding. Later that night my body still was hurting and also my head was hurting and somewhat dizziness, and I was getting chills, and waking up sweating, and then waking up cold all night long. Now today my head is still pounding and my body is still a little stiff but not as bad as it was on Tuesday. And im always drinking a lot of water daily since my work is physical. I drink half gallon a day. and also this is the 2nd time this has happened to me when I was working in high temperatures. The first time happen like 4 years ago .Should I be worry about my head hurting for two days now? Also my throat is sore. This morning I had to sneeze and it was painful to sneeze cause it made my head hurt more and instead of mucus coming out of my nose it came out of my mouth and there was a very very small amount of blood. Im a 28 yr old male, 5,8 and I weigh 135 pounds and take no medication. Thanks

Brief Answer: Due to electrolyte loss. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for posting your query. The headache and the muscle pain is due to the electrolyte imbalance associated with the fluid loss due to working continuously in excessive heat. You need to have an electrolyte rich fluid like Garotade or fresh fruit juices to make up for the loss. The headache that you have now will gradually subside in next few days. Please do not worry. For the sore throat you can do warm saline gargles. This is also due to the dryness of your mucous membranes. I hope this answers your query.
